Society Gold Dealer Hajia Bisi Bisimilai Opens Up on Crashed Marriage to Fuji Star Saheed Osupa

Popular Lagos socialite and gold merchant, Hajia Bisi Bisimilai, is no stranger to the spotlight. Not only is she the daughter of prominent Oyo billionaire and oil magnate Alhaji Bisimilai, but she also once shared matrimony with Fuji legend King Saheed Osupa.

A few days ago, Hajia Bisi marked another milestone as she launched her luxurious 18-carat gold and exclusive Senegalese fashion boutique on Opebi Street in Ikeja, Lagos. The glamorous event attracted top Lagos society women, underscoring her strong influence on the social circuit.

In an exclusive chat with City People’s Assistant Society Editor, Abiola Orisile, Bisimilai opened up about her high-profile relationship with Saheed Osupa, revealing how it ended and her reaction to his recent public denial of their marriage.

“If He Says He Doesn’t Have a Wife, Then I Don’t Have a Husband Either”

Reacting to Osupa’s controversial statement—where he declared he had no wife and dismissed the idea of being married to anyone named Bisimilai—she responded calmly but firmly.

“It’s quite funny to hear him talk that way. If Saheed said he doesn’t have a wife, then he doesn’t have one. Maybe he’s telling the truth—we’ve been separated for over five years now.”

Despite the separation, she emphasized there’s no bitterness on her part.

“Everybody has their own challenges. Our marriage was blessed with two wonderful, brilliant kids. I don’t feel bad about what he said. He’s a musician after all—don’t forget, tomorrow he might say I’m the love of his life.”

Asked how the separation unfolded, Bisi revealed that there was no fight or dramatic fallout.

“We didn’t have a fight. We enjoyed a very good relationship. He told me he was getting an office in Magodo, and he went. Then he just stopped coming. I tried to find out why, but got no clear answers.”

She said she only got clarity when she saw the now-viral interview.

“After he said in the interview that he doesn’t have a wife, I told myself: then I don’t have a husband too.”

Despite the heartbreak, Hajia Bisi Bisimilai remains focused on her business and her children, continuing to shine as one of Lagos’ resilient and fashionable entrepreneurs.
