The  Nigeria National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA) pre-season tournament began in Jos the Plateau State capital in an exciting atmosphere greeted by a large turnout of fans and sports administrators.

The first match of the tournament lifted up to its billing as Mighty Jets international FC were overpowered by City FC in an encounter that ended 2-0 in favour of the Abuja based side.

Jonathan Ukermeze’s opener in the 38th minute sparked up motivation within the lads to punish a wasteful Mighty Jets international who had the majority of the chances created but weren’t clinical enough to bury any as the game ended 1-0 going into the second forty five minutes.

Upon return, Mighty Jets international FC had a better control of the game however fell short of creative ability to get an equalizer. 

Having maintained their discipline in the majority of the second half, Jets were caught off guard from the right flank as the inspirational Henry David pulled a pass across the wide area which emanated into close range finish from an unmarked Daniel Gotum in the 85th munite thanks to the goal keeper’s error.

As it stands, City FC tops the log with 3 points going into their second Fixture.

As promised by the organizers, the man of the match award went to Henry David of City FC

Responding to questions from the press during the post match interview, Ibeh Johnson the Technical Adviser city fc commended NALCOMA for the sacrifice made by ensuring registered NNL clubs have the opportunity to play tough opponents before going into the league proper. 

He expressed satisfaction by the display he saw from his boys and praised them for staying disciplined and maximizing their opportunities in front of goal.

Also his Mighty Jets Counterpart Aminu Musa assured the fans that the team will do better in subsequent outing “ this is one of our biggest test, we’ve been working hard to blend the team having brought in a couple of new recruits so of course we will better “

Having seen this day comes to reality, President of NALCOMA Mr Chidi Okonkwo was full of joy and express optimism in the ability of NALCOMA to put better structures to ensure the continuity of the preseason tournament “I’m impress by the level of display by this two quality sides, this is what we want to see and possibly improve upon, I’m assuring you that this tournament has come to stay” he said.

Mr Chidi also commended his colleagues and Sports administrators for pulling resources together in other to have this history tournament.

He further said NALCOMA is making plans to take the best NNL team to Italy and South Africa for a tour if possible.

Prominent among Football administrators who were present at the stadium are: Hon. Sulaiman Yahaya Kwande  Former NFF board Member , Emmanuel Attah NNL CEO ,  PFA  Chairman normalisation committee Chairman Mr Audu Yakal, Mr Chidi Okonkwo, Mr Yakubu Sarma, Member NNL Board and Chairman Gombe State FA,Jude Anyadufu, former ENYIMBA Coordinator and MBUM FERDINAND General manager among others.
