The Senator Representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has harped on the need for strengthening of security in urban areas in the South East zone and the country at large.

Senator Ubah made the remarks on Saturday, 6th July 2024 on the occasion of the 27th Nnewi USA National Convention in Atlanta, United States of America (USA) with the theme, "Urbanization and Security Challenges in Nnewi."

Senator Ubah emphasized the importance of strengthening security in Nnewi and other Nigerian urban areas which is essential in achieving societal growth and development in all spheres of human endeavour. The oil magnate turned politician harped on the need for collaboration and unity in building a resilient community that can withstand urbanization pressures and security threats.

The lawmaker informed the gathering of his efforts to enhance Nnewi's security by deploying CCTV cameras with UHD display technology across strategic locations aimed at creating a secure environment that supports the well-being and prosperity of all Nnewi residents and beyond.

Senator Ubah while also speaking on the need for sustainable urban development in Nnewi and beyond, stressed the importance of infrastructural development, job creation and social amenities to improve the quality of life for residents. 

He commended the efforts of the Nnewi USA community in promoting unity and development in Nnewi as well as encouraging continued support for initiatives that benefit the people of Nnewi and beyond. He further praised the Nnewi USA community for their commitment to strengthening the community's security architecture and pledged to continue in his efforts towards keeping Nnewi community and beyond safe.

The convention which was attended by notable figures also had the presence of Nnewi Crown Prince, Prince Obi Orizu and other distinguished individuals from the Community. The convention provided a platform for members of the Nnewi community in diaspora to converge and discuss important issues affecting their community.
