Ezema Gabriel, Head Coach of Inter-Lagos Football Club, has shed light on the challenges of competing in the Nigeria National League (NNL) and second-tier leagues worldwide.

During a recent interview on Sports World Platform, Coach Gabriel described the NNL as "notoriously difficult to navigate" due to financial difficulties, diverse player demographics, and varying skill levels.

"The league's abridged format makes it even more demanding. Every team fights for a spot, and each match is a battle for survival," Coach Gabriel explained.

He emphasized the competitiveness of the league, where every team is eager to prove themselves worthy of promotion to the Premier League.

Coach Gabriel concluded that second-tier leagues globally, including England's Championship, are the most challenging due to their intensity and competitiveness.

The Nigeria National League clubs will resume action in January after the yuletide break.
