Veteran Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has revealed the pivotal role President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu played during one of the darkest moments of his life.

Speaking during an interview on OYINMOMO TV, Balogun recounted a serious accident he suffered several years ago that left him in critical condition.

According to the actor, the gravity of the situation prompted swift and compassionate intervention from the President and his wife. Balogun disclosed that the couple insisted he be flown overseas for specialised medical treatment to ensure he received the best possible care.

“When I had an accident, President Tinubu and his wife Oluremi Tinubu stepped in and asked that I be taken abroad for treatment,” he said.

Although he eventually received quality medical attention within Nigeria, Balogun noted that their willingness to facilitate international treatment deeply touched him.

For the actor, it was not just the offer of medical support that stood out, but the empathy behind it.

He also shared a memorable exchange with the First Lady. Curious about the depth of her concern, Balogun said he asked why she went to such lengths on his behalf.

“She said, ‘You are a star of God, and they must not let your light dim!’”

Balogun added that the experience reshaped his outlook on kindness and reciprocity. Reflecting on the First Lady’s gesture, he said he embraced a guiding principle from the encounter.

“It was from her I learnt that if you take care of someone else’s child, God will take care of yours,” he said.

The revelation has since drawn attention online, with many praising the humanitarian side of the President and First Lady’s actions during the actor’s time of need.
