 Rotary International under the auspices of Rotary Club of Owerri Royals District 9142, has nominated Mr Chuks Akamadu, Founder/President, Centre for Ethical Rebirth Among Nigerian Youths (CERANY) for an award of excellence for his significant contributions to community service and development.

This is contained in a statement by his media aide, Mr Sydney Usman.

Rotary Club is a member of the world’s foremost non-governmental service organisation of business professionals and community leaders united to take action to create lasting change across the globe in our communities and ourselves.

“Rotary Club of Owerri Royals wishes to express sincere admiration and gratitude for your remarkable and outstanding community service.

“It is with great pleasure that we invite and nominate you as a recipient for an award at the upcoming ceremony marking the investiture of our third President to be held on Oct. 5, 2024.

“Your longstanding dedication to service and your unwavering commitment to the betterment of our society have left an indelible mark on all who have had the privilege of working with you.

“Your leadership, integrity, and tireless efforts exemplify the core values of Rotary – “Service above Self” – and your impact has been felt far and wide,” the statement quoted Rotary Club of Owerri as saying.

The statement affirmed that the nomination of Akamadu, who is also an NDLEA -certified drug abuse prevention expert, is based on his numerous philanthropic projects that have touched the lives of a significant number of people.

It added that such gestures inspired many to follow in his footsteps.

“CERANY, under Akamadu’s leadership, has traversed the length and breadth of the country, giving secondary school students free anti-drug abuse counselling and participating in orientation programmes at tertiary institutions where freshmen/women are sensitised on the dangers of drug abuse,” the statement indicated.

Akamadu is a member of the Institute of Directors; Nigeria; Nigerian Institute of Management; Institute of Tourism Professionals; Nigeria Institute of Marketing of Nigeria; and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, among other professional bodies.

He is also a certified management consultant and a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants. (NAN)
