— Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has formally petitioned the Nigerian Police Force, raising serious allegations against Commissioner of Police, CP Uche, for what she describes as a failure to uphold the rule of law and allowing a co-defendant, VeryDarkMan (VDM), to gain unauthorized access to her police interrogation.

In the petition, which has been submitted to the appropriate authorities, Iyabo Ojo claims that VDM, a controversial social media figure and civilian currently facing criminal charges in another case, was permitted to enter her interrogation room uninvited and unannounced, in violation of standard legal procedure and her rights as a citizen.

According to the actress, the incident occurred during a recent questioning session related to an ongoing case in which both she and VDM are involved. She alleges that the presence of VDM during her private session was not only inappropriate but intimidating, and may have been enabled by the personal relationship he allegedly shares with CP Uche.

Iyabo Ojo’s petition further claims that VDM has unrestricted access to the CP’s office, despite his status as a civilian and a criminal defendant in a separate matter—raising concerns about preferential treatment and potential compromise within the system.

“This is not just about me. It’s about accountability and ensuring that the Nigerian Police does not allow certain individuals to flout the law because of their connections,” Ojo stated through her legal team.

The petition calls for:
    •    An internal investigation into CP Uche’s conduct and relationship with VDM.
    •    A review of protocol violations related to unauthorized access during interrogations.
    •    Reassurance from police leadership that all citizens—regardless of status—will be treated fairly under the law.

As of press time, neither CP Uche nor the Nigerian Police Force has issued an official response to the petition. VeryDarkMan, who has previously drawn both admiration and criticism for his outspoken online persona, has also not publicly addressed the allegations.

The unfolding situation is expected to spark further debate about police transparency, celebrity influence, and the conduct of law enforcement officers in high-profile cases.
