The Sports Committee of the House Of Representatives has summoned the Hon .Minister of Sports, John Owan Enoh.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee Jajere Mohammed, passed the motion in a sitting with the Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) on Thursday.

Seconded my Hon. Moses Oluwatoyin, the lawmakers insisted on a good representation of the country at the Paris Olympics later this year, hence the need to have the Sports Minister.

The NOC were asked to appear before the Committee with their president, Habu Ahmed Gumel, after he was missing last week Thursday.

Chairman of the Sports Committee, Adams Ekene, stressed that a 'fire-brigade' approach would no longer be condoned, adding that all funds approved to the NOC must be accounted for.

He also stressed that athletes who participate in the Olympics should be given their allowance and payment as at when due.

According to him, the welfare of the athletes should be top priority to the NOC to avoid protests from the major players.

Meanwhile, the Committee charged the NOC to ensure that the nation is made proud with a good outing that will supercede that of the Atlanta Olympics in 2021.
