Rasheedat Ajibade : Super Falcons Star Breaks 98-Dah Drought With 7TH LIGA F Goal As Atlético Madrid Down Eibar

Nigerian international Rasheedat Ajibade ended her 10-match goal drought in emphatic fashion, netting her seventh Liga F goal of the season to give Atlético Madrid an early lead in their 2-0 victory over Eibar at the Municipal de Ipurua.

Ajibade, who hadn’t scored since January 18 in a 1-1 draw against Levante Badalona, found the breakthrough just before halftime—slotting home calmly after 98 days without a goal. The strike was a much-needed confidence boost for the 25-year-old, who has remained a key figure in Atlético’s attacking setup despite her recent scoring struggles.

Lively throughout the match, Ajibade’s pace and positioning constantly troubled the Eibar defense until she was substituted in the 68th minute for Rosa Otermín. Just nine minutes later, Fiamma Benítez doubled the lead, sealing the win for the visitors.

Ajibade’s goal brings her tally to 11 goal contributions this season across all competitions—eight goals and three assists in 24 appearances. She currently stands as Atlético’s top scorer, two goals clear of teammate Giovana Queiroz, and also ranks third in assists.

The result ensures that Atlético Madrid will finish third in Liga F, regardless of the outcome of their final fixture against Levante Badalona.

With her scoring touch restored, Ajibade is expected to carry this momentum into the season finale and beyond, offering renewed promise for both club and country as she heads into the summer break.
