Head Coach of Rangers Women team, Favour Aneke Chinedu, has admitted that his young girls are under pressure in the ongoing 4th edition of the annual Judith Chime Championship taking place in Enugu, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Rangers Women team has been posting incredible performances in the tournament, scoring goals with relative ease.

Rangers Women team opened the campaign with an 6-0 triumph over Powerful Eaglets and followed that up with an emphatic 4-0 win over Spunkey Blazers to earn the Coal City Queens a quarter final berth and puts the team in the title favourites position.

Asked if the team is under pressure to win, Coach Favour admitted, saying the name 'Rangers' is pressure to the Flying Antelopes men's squad talkless the young girls.

Aneke would however give a firm confidence to the team's fans that the young girls have learned to manage the pressure.

"The name 'Rangers' alone is a very big pressure to the main Rangers male team,  not to talk of the young girls", starts the young tactician. 

"It's pressure, but we've learned how to absolve the pressure and use it positively. So we cannot say no to such pressure. Instead, we embrace it and then we run with it". 

Coach Aneke spoke on the importance of the Judith Chime Championship for the young girls and praised the organisers for providing the platform for the girls.

"Judith Chime is an icon. What she's doing is extremely marvelous -- giving hope to the young girls. That's exactly the reason we're featuring more of the young girls in the competition. 

"If you watch the team, we've more of the young girls. So what she's doing is not something that we should look down upon. Rather, it's something we should hold high with extreme passion. So, it gladden my heart because the young girls are having fun, really enjoying the game and feeling a deep sense of love for the game and what the game really looks like, out there. 

"Its a welcome development and I'm really happy about that and I know the rest of the (participating) coaches, though I'm not speaking for them, are also happy about this".

Coach Favour could not hide his feelings over his team's performance in the tournament, especially in the gritty clash against Spunkey Blazers.

"I feel good about it. Any Coach that wins a game naturally feels good".

Responding to his team's apparent 'favourites' tag, Aneke bluntly said that his team isn't the title favourites.

"No team is ever the favourite in any competition. If you're winning, yes, you're the favourite team. But if you're losing, certainly you ain't the favourite any more. 

"That's how it is. So, I don't think we're the favourites. We're just Rangers".
