Rangers Hand 'Automatic And 'Special Attention' Screening Spots To 2023 Nanka Champions League Best Four Players
BY SAB OSUJI
Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, General Manager of Rangers International, one of Nigeria's foremost football clubs, has graciously announced 'automatic' screening spots to four players adjudged as the best players of the 2023 Nanka Champions League final decided on Monday, 1 January, 2024, at the Neros Stadium, Nanka, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
Nkpor Branch emerged overall Champions after a pyrrhic 1-0 win over Umuahia Branch and smiled home, not only with the giant trophy, but also the N1.5m prize money.
Amobi, arguably the youngest General Manager in the Nigeria domestic top flight, said the gesture was in appreciation of Prof Poly Emenike, sponsor of the annual Nanka Champions League efforts in football development, not only in Nanka Community but also in Anambra State, the entire South East and Nigeria in general.
He pointed out that 'it was not an easy task sponsoring a tournament for 40 years without break, acknowledging that 'huge sums of money had been invested in the Nanka Champions League Project as well as having given opportunity and platform for the youth to horn their football careers through the Nanka Champions League'.
Ezeaku, who had earlier paid huge tribute to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, for the untiring positives he has brought into Nigeria football since mounting the leadership of the NFF, equally presented Rangers Insignia to the NFF boss as Souvenir.
Amobi disclosed that the four lucky players so selected would get 'special' attention by the Rangers coaches during the screening exercise for the 2024/2025 NPFL season.
Following the pronouncement by the Rangers Chief Executive Officer, CEO, the stadium burst into rapturous ovation, apparently in clear conviction that Prof Poly Emenike's efforts and investments in football development may have began to bear positive fruits.
