PZ/Gwagwalada U13 Coaches Tournament Kicks Off in Style

The 2025 edition of the PZ/Gwagwalada U13 Coaches Tournament roared to life on Wednesday in Gwagwalada, as 12 academy teams began their quest for glory in one of the area’s most anticipated grassroots football events.
This year’s competition features 12 teams divided into three groups of four.
• Group A: Golden Boys, Hayil Sa’id Academy, Sheikhadam Academy, Medical Strikers Team B.
• Group B: Medical Strikers Team A, Real Marshal, Bucknor Academy, Cottage Academy.
• Group C: ECN Global Academy, Ejiwumi Academy, Sensational Stars Academy, Young Warriors Academy.
The opening day, played at the Government Secondary School Gwagwalada, delivered thrilling encounters and narrow wins. Golden Boys edged Bucknor Academy 1–0, while Sheikhadam Academy cruised past Medical Strikers Team A with a 2–0 victory. Hayil Sa’id Academy and Cottage Academy fought to a 1–1 draw in a tense match.
In other fixtures, Real Marshal defeated Medical Strikers Team B 2–1, ECN Global Academy triumphed over Young Warriors by the same scoreline, and Ejiwumi Academy outclassed Sensational Stars Academy with a convincing 2–0 win.
Action resumes on Friday with another set of mouthwatering fixtures: Medical Strikers Team A vs Golden Boys, Bucknor Academy vs Sheikhadam Academy, Real Marshal vs Hayil Sa’id Academy, Cottage Academy vs Medical Strikers Team B, Sensational Stars Academy vs ECN Global Academy, and Young Warriors Academy vs Ejiwumi Academy.
The tournament, organized by the Gwagwalada Football Coaches Association, is proudly supported by Mr. Ponzing Nden, who has consistently championed youth football development in the area.
