The Police Service Commission (PSC) don carry come better news as dem don reinstate some police officers wey dem earlier punish, afta dem review some disciplinary cases to make sure say justice and fairness dey inside Nigeria Police Force.

 

For one statement wey come out on Sunday, PSC tok-tok pesin, Ikechukwu Ani, yarn say the commission review 24 appeal cases and one disciplinary matter for dia recent plenary meeting.

 

According to Ani, the move show say PSC wan handle disciplinary matter with equity and no bias.

 

One of the officers wey dem reinstate na ACP Grace Obiageli Ejiofor, wey dem force retire because of one matter wey happen on September 8, 2023, for Old Netim Division, Akamkpa, Cross River State. Dem don restore her full rank and post, make e match her mates, and the reinstatement go start from the original date wey dem retire her.

 

Dem still lift the severe reprimand wey dem give ACP Muhammad Awwal Yunusa, restore CSP Allwell Ihekandu Okwuonu to him correct rank and position, and dem bring back other officers like SP Clement Awoyemi, ASP Bamiselu Oluwaseun, ASP Ahmed Monday, and ASP Imoohi Doora.

 

The PSC also dismiss one petition against DIG Bzigu Dali, say the complaint about fake records no get head. Dem cancel one warning letter wey no come from PSC and correct one wahala wey change him date of birth from April 10, 1967 to April 10, 1966 without proper approval.

 

PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd), talk say dem go dey quick handle disciplinary cases to stop injustice and make sure say officers no go dey stuck for dia career.

 

“Any officer wey dem clear go move forward without delay. But if dem find say you mess up, correct punishment go follow,” Argungu tok.

 

For the plenary meeting wey dem hold on Thursday, PSC also approve plenty promotions, including one new Deputy Inspector-General of Police and one Commissioner of Police wey don become Assistant Inspector-General.

• SP Omenihu Obinna, Anti-Cult Unit, Abia State

• DSP Bankole Olajide Joseph, Bank Guard, Lagos

• ASP Ede Stella Ukamaka, Police Hospital, Awka

• ASP Omeife Bethrand Emeka, 45 PMF, Force HQ Abuja

• ASP Nnamdi Nwoba, Surveillance Unit, Ubakala, Abia

• ASP Adeyemi Adeola, Chief of Staff to Lagos State Task Force Chairman, now promoted to DSP

 

Ani still add say all dis reinstatement and promotion na part of PSC plan to build trust for dia system, make officers sabi say dem go treat everybody fairly and by law.

 

For many years, officers don dey complain say dem dey punish dem anyhow, and na dis kind complaint push PSC to begin do better reforms for transparency and fairness.
