Professor Nwafor Allegedly Intimidates Son-in-law Over Matrimonial Dispute
In a shocking revelation, Professor Naboth H.A. Nwafor, renowned educator and faculty member at the Education Foundation in the Rivers State University, has been accused of ongoing intimidation towards his son-in-law, amidst a bitter matrimonial dispute involving his daughter.
The saga, which has unfolded behind closed doors but has now come to light, has sent ripples through the academic and local communities alike. Sources close to the family reveal that tensions between Professor Nwafor and his son-in-law have been simmering for months, stemming from undisclosed marital issues concerning the professor's daughter.
According to reports, the intimidation tactics employed by Professor Nwafor allegedly range from verbal threats to more subtle forms of coercion, leaving the son-in-law feeling vulnerable and harassed. Friends of the affected individual have expressed concern over the psychological toll this ordeal has taken on him.
According to an anonymous eyewitness, Professor Nwafor purportedly collaborated with a group of individuals, including thugs and military personnel, to forcefully enter the property belonging to his son-in-law. The aim, as described, was to seize assets valued at millions of naira, in what appears to be a continuation of the ongoing dispute surrounding his daughter's matrimonial issues.
However, the invasion was thwarted thanks to the swift intervention of neighbors, church members, and officers from the Ozouba Nigeria Police Division. Their timely arrival prevented the situation from escalating further, preserving both property and potentially averting any physical harm to those involved.
“Our estate was agog as the family of Prof. Nwafor storm the premises of the Son-in-law (Ekpor Temple) very early yesterday to lay claim to the wedding properties of daughter.
She said, “Drama ensued as the Son-in-law tried to resist the tugs who had broken into his home accompanied by his wife Ada Nwafor and her family members before neigbours, church members and the Police came to the rescue of the broadcast journalist and resolved the matter. He said bitterly.
Recall that Professor Nwafor lodged a petition against the son-in-law with the Rivers State Police Criminal Investigation Department, alleging that his daughter, Ada Ukachi Nwafor Esq., had been kidnapped and killed by her husband. This was after she had parked her belongings from her husband’s house on 2nd February 2024 on the grounds of alleged infidelity and promiscuity after three years of marriage.
In response to these grave accusations, the son-in-law, a reputable broadcast journalist in Port Harcourt took proactive measures to defend himself against what he perceived as an attempt at intimidation. Seeking legal recourse, he approached the law court to address the allegations and seek redress for the distress caused by the situation.
Effort to seek clarity and insight into the ongoing matrimonial dispute between Professor Naboth H.A. Nwafor's family and his son-in-law on the matter have so far been unsuccessful. However, media blogs and the public are taking the allegations seriously and are conducting an internal investigation into the matter.
