Anambra State Police Command don arrest one 26-year-old man, Chibuike Anikpe, for allegedly stabbing him girlfriend, Ogochukwu Mmadubugwu, till she die for Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of the state.

 

Police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, talk this one for statement wey dem release on Sunday. He say operatives of State Criminal Investigation Department catch the suspect on January 7.

 

According to Ikenga, early rumours wey people dey spread say the killing get connection with people wey the suspect owe money no be true at all. He say preliminary investigation show say Anikpe admit say na him attack the 35-year-old woman for her house on December 9, 2025, after he accuse am of cheating.

 

Police also talk say the suspect confess say he plant one note wey claim say creditors kidnap am, just to confuse investigators and cover him track.

 

Ikenga add say Anikpe tell police say na emotional stress push am do wetin he do, as he claim say he don spend plenty money on the woman and feel frustrated.

 

The police spokesman confirm say detectives don visit the mortuary where dem keep the woman body, adding say the case don raise fresh concern about domestic violence and rising wahala for relationship matters.

 

He advise members of the public make dem report early signs of abuse, say disagreement no suppose end with violence but with lawful and peaceful solution.
