Associate Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Toluwani Odukoya, has spoken candidly about the end of her marriage and the series of personal losses that deeply impacted her life and ministry.

 

In a powerful and emotional interview with TruthTable, the 40-year-old pastor revealed that she is separated from her husband, a reality that many of her followers had not known until now.

 

“I’ll say I’m separated. Most people don’t know I’m separated, and that’s actually defined or has shaped my life,” Odukoya shared. “It was circumstances beyond my control.”

 

Describing the end of her marriage, she likened the experience to bereavement. “It felt like a death,” she said, noting that the separation came during an already painful period marked by the deaths of her stepmother, her father’s twin sister, and her father, the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, between 2021 and 2023.

 

Reflecting on her journey, Pastor Toluwani emphasized that marital breakdown should not always be equated with failure or moral weakness.

 

“My ex-husband is a great man,” she explained. “But if God doesn’t ordain you guys to be together and you force-fit yourselves, the likelihood of staying together is very low.”

 

Despite the weight of grief and the challenge of separation, Odukoya said she ultimately embraced her pastoral calling, even when she doubted her own readiness.

 

“When the call came, I told God, ‘You know all the baggage I’m trying to navigate. But if you call me to serve, then maybe you’ve put something in me!’ I just decided to keep my eyes on Jesus.”

 

She credited her family—especially her late father—with offering unwavering support during her darkest seasons. “My dad fought for me. My family encouraged me. That embrace added to my self-esteem and self-worth,” she said.
