Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has explained the reason he married a Cameroonian woman, saying his decision was based on loyalty, sacrifice, and emotional support rather than nationality.

 

Osimhen made the remarks after being asked why he did not marry a Yoruba woman or a Nigerian woman in general. According to the Napoli forward, his wife’s origin was never a factor when their relationship began.

 

“I didn’t even know she was from Cameroon at first,” Osimhen said. “What mattered to me was how she stood by me when things weren’t going well.”

 

The football star revealed that during difficult periods in his life and career, his wife supported him both financially and emotionally, offering encouragement when he needed it most. He said her unwavering presence and belief in him played a major role in shaping the man he is today.

 

“She supported me financially and emotionally, and she gave me every reason to be my wife,” he added.

“Nigerian women are beautiful, but life simply didn’t lead me to marry one,” he said.
