Ondo State Government don talk say dem go investigate the report wey say people dey openly display and sell casket for inside University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) for Akure.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters, Simidele Odimayo, yarn dis one when e dey talk with journalists on Sunday. E say government don already hear the matter and dem dey take steps to stop am.

 

This tori come after Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) for Ondo State para, talk say e no make sense at all say dem dey sell coffin for inside hospital, as e fit affect patients psychologically.

 

For statement wey dem drop on Friday, NUJ talk say make dem clear the casket sellers commot immediately and make state government do something about the wahala wey dey affect government hospitals.

 

In response, Odimayo talk say government no go fold hand, dem go finish investigation first, then take correct action. E still add say UNIMEDTH don dey upgrade, and new buildings wey go reduce overcrowding don almost complete.

 

“Our new building don reach like 95% completion, and government still dey work on more improvements to make healthcare better,” e talk.

 

Meanwhile, Acting Chief Medical Director of UNIMEDTH, Adesina Akintan, confirm say dem dey expand the hospital, and once dem complete the new structures, e go help doctors and nurses serve patients well.
