The inaugural edition of the Okpotemba U19 Youth Tournament is set to take place in Isinweke, Ihitte Uboma, Imo State, from March 8 to March 11, 2025.

According to Chief Cheta Ojukwu, Director of Okpotemba Football Academy, the tournament is designed for U19 teams and will feature Abia Warriors Feeders, Enyimba Feeders, Ikukuoma Feeders, and Okpotemba Football Academy.

Speaking at the inauguration of the tournament’s Organizing Committee on Monday, Chief Ojukwu emphasized that the competition aims to promote Okpotemba Football Academy and bring the club’s activities closer to the people of Ihitte/Uboma/Obowu.

The Organizing Committee will be chaired by renowned football administrator and journalist Patrick Ngwaogu, popularly known as Odogwu Ndi Abia. Other committee members include Chijioke Choca Ojukwu, Comrade Obinna Zuma Nwoke, and Johnny Nash Nnorom. Ojukwu noted that the members were selected based on merit to ensure the tournament’s smooth organization.

In his response, Committee Chairman Patrick Ngwaogu expressed gratitude to the Director of Okpotemba Football Academy for entrusting him with the role. He assured that the tournament would be successfully delivered within the short timeframe.

All matches will be played at St. Cyprian Football Pitch, Isinweke.
