Ogbelu Wins Tunisia Premier League With Esperance
Former School boy Junior international Onuche Ogbelu has won the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 with Esperance Tunis, while expressing his readiness to play for the Super Eagles if given the opportunity. Esperance de Tunis was crowned Tunisian champions for the 33rd times.
Ogbelu who joined the Tunisian giants from Fosla Academy Abuja, played 34 matches for ES Tunis since 30 September 2023 , he was engaged for the former African Champions League winners.
An appreciative Onuche who was in the heart of the Flying Eagles defensive midfielder during the last African U.20 Nations Cup in Egypt, said he is happy with the progress in his career, and the opportunity given to him by the country.
The former Fosla Academy star boy further expressed his readiness to join the Super Eagles when the opportunity comes.
Onuche who played 9 matches for Esperance in the Champions League, said "I continue to remain grateful to God for my career. So far, it hasn’t been easy but God is helping me. Winning the silver medal in the Caf champions league wasn’t the goal but when we plan God decide, it was a dream come through for me ,despite everything we continue working hard as they is room for much improvement.We would continue to work till we meet our expected goal I feel very happy playing in the champions league final, and i think that will propel me further next season".
Onuche debuted for Esperance in an African Football League match on 26 October 2023, few days after his unveiling.
He also played for Nasarawa United in the NPFL on loan from Fosla Academy in the 2023 Season.
