The upcoming One Fight Ultimate (OFU) Solution Fight Night 3 holding on Saturday, 4th November 2023 at the X-Fit/Oma Event Centre is aimed at introducing mixed martial art in Anambra State and taking the youths out of the street.

The was the reaction of the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of OFU, Chief Ifeakandu Obiudo during an interview with reporters on the upcoming cage fight event.

Chief Obiudo revealed that the OFU fight night 3 is the first of its kind in the state having held two events in Lagos State and the maiden edition expected to hold in the state capital will have combat athletes from Congo DR and Benin Republic. He also informed that the initiative is line with the Akuluo Uno philosophy of the present administration under the leadership of Mr. Governor, His Excellency, Prof. Charles Soludo.

"We are bringing mixed martial art to Awka and by extension to the state at large in line with the Akuluo Uno philosophy of the present administration under the leadership of Mr. Governor, H.E Prof. Charles Soludo. The essence is to promote mixed martial art and engage the youths through combat sports while ensuring we channel their energy positively.

"In anticipation of the OFU Solution Fight this Saturday, 4th of November 2023 at the X-Fit and Oma Event Centre, we have combat athletes coming in from Democratic Republic of Congo and Benin Republic while others are based in Nigeria.The fighters are currently in Lagos and are expected to arrive the state on Wednesday, 1st November 2023, so we look forward to this event on Saturday," Obiudo stated.

The South East Zonal Representative of the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria who has lived in Europe for about three decades stated that he has reached out to the Government through the Chairman of the Anambra State Sports Development Commission to make the event big in its next edition billed for the first quarter of next year. 

The combat sports administrator averred that he is hopeful that Anambra State will produce a combat athlete fighting in Europe or America and the UFC in the nearest future just like Isreal Adesanya and Kamaru Usman.

Obiudo called on the private sector to be part of the initiative while also eulogizing the management of X-Fit/Oma Event Centre and Grand East Hotel for their immense support thus  far towards the success of the upcoming programme.
