GROUP F

This Group has a potential winner of the AFCON trophy in Ivory Coast, if records are anything are by. However, Box 18 is previewing the last Group at the most glamorous championship in Africa. 

TANZANIA ( TAIFA STARS) 


The Tanzania national football team is nicknamed Taifa Stars. They are currently ranked number 121 as at 26 October 2023. Their highest ranking was number 65 attained on February 1995. 

Taifa stars first international match was against Uganda which they won by 7–0 in Tanganyika  in 
Uganda in 1945

Their biggest win was
a 7–0 against Somalia  in Jinja, Uganda on 1 December 1995. 

They have been at the Africa Cup of Nations
three times, with the first in 1980. 

The Taifa Stars has a 2 over 10 chances of winning the Africa Nations Cup in Ivory Coast. 

ZAMBIA (CHIPOLOPOLO) 

The Zambia national football team during the 1980s,  were known as the KK 11, after the founding president Dr. Kenneth Kaunda ("KK") who ruled Zambia from 1964 to 1991. After the country adopted multiparty politics, the side was nicknamed Chipolopolo which means the "Copper Bullets".

The team won the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2012. This team has also become the only most successful team in the COSAFA Cup, surpassing Zimbabwe after winning the 2023 edition.

They are ranked 81 on FIFA ranking which they 
attained on 26 October 2023. Their highest ever has been 15 attained on February – May 1996, August 1996. 

Their First international match as Southern Rhodesia were they lost 0–4 to Northern Rhodesia. The match was in Southern Rhodesia in 1946. Their biggest win as Zambia was an 11–2 against Swaziland. The match was played at Lusaka, Zambia played on 5 February 1978. 
 
They have been to the Africa Cup of Nations 18 times, with the first time in 1974. They were Champions in 2012. Zambia has 4 over 10 chances of winning the AFCON trophy in Ivory Coast. 

DR CONGO ( THE LEOPARDS) 

The DR Congo national football is ranked number 65 in the world by FIFA. This, they attained on 26 October 2023. Their highest was 28 attained in July–August 2017 

 Their first international match as Belgian Congo was against  Northern Rhodesia  which ended 3-3. The match was played in Belgian Congo in  1948. 

Congolese biggest win was against Zambia  which ended 10-1. The match was played in Kinshasa, Congo DR on 22 November 1969. 

They appeared at the World Cup only once  in 1974

Congo DR has been to the African Nations Cup 19 times with the first been in 1965. 

Congo DR had been ranked  as 28th in the FIFA Rankings. As Zaire they were the first Sub-Saharan African team to qualify for the FIFA World Cup and twice won the Africa Cup of Nations. The Leopards have a 5 over 10 rating of emerging champions in Ivory Coast 

MOROCCO (ATLAS LIONS) 

The Morocco national football team is one of the best teams in Africa. Morocco was the first African country to play in the semi-finals of the Senior World Cup. They are one of the favorites tipped to win the 2024 edition of the Africa cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. 

Morocco is ranked 13th on FIFA ranking, and their highest has been Number 10 which they attained on 10 April 1998. 

Morocco's First international match was against Iraq on 19 October 1957. It was played in Beirut, Lebanon;  and ended 3-3. Their biggest win was the 13–1 bashing of Saudi Arabia in Casablanca, Morocco on 6 September 1965 . They suffered their biggest defeat in the hands of Hungary on 11 October 1964 in 6–0 Tokyo, Japan. 

The Atlas Lions has appeared at the World Cup six times, with the first been in 1970. Their feat at the Qatar 2022 remains their best, and that of any African country. 

At the Africa Cup of Nations, they have appeared 20 times and have only won the trophy only once in 1976.

Morocco is one of Africa's most successful national football teams. They made history in 1986, when they became the first African team to finish top of a group at a World Cup and the first African team to reach the knockout stages. However, they lost to West Germany 1–0.

Morocco defied all expectations at the i2022 FIFA World Cup, topping their group containing Croatia, Canada and Belgium. Morocco also eliminated Spain and Portugal to become the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. They were also the third ever semi-finalist not from UEFA or CONMEBOL. Morocco were knocked out by France in the semi-finals and lost the third place play-off, therefore finishing in 4th-place, their highest ever finish.
 They were ranked as the top African national team for three consecutive years, from 1997 to 1999, and again since December 2022. As of September 2024, Morocco is ranked as the 13th best national team in the world.

The Atlas Lions have 8 over 10 chances of winning the AFCON trophy in Abidjan.
