Sports Minister Senator John Owan Enoh is thoroughly impressed with the exceptional talents shining at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba. He praised the young athletes, highlighting the incredible potential being discovered across various sports ¹.

Among the standout performers is 8-year-old Isabella Inmi Ojo Ichado, Nigeria's youngest female chess player, representing Kogi State. Ichado's passion for chess began at just 3 years old, nurtured by her father, a chess coach. Her remarkable skills have caught the Minister's attention.

Senator Enoh commended Ichado's achievements, stressing the importance of identifying and supporting young talents early on. "Young athletes like Isabella showcase our country's immense potential. Her skill and dedication at such a young age are truly inspiring. We're proud of her and the other rising stars," he said.

The Ministry remains committed to developing grassroots sports, ensuring platforms like the National Youth Games continue to cultivate future national champions. This year's event has already uncovered numerous talents with potential to represent Nigeria globally.
