Following their relegation from the Nigeria Women’s Football League, Sunshine Queens have relieved head coach Oladimeji Abimbola of her duties with immediate effect.

Ondo State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye made the announcement on Thursday in Akure, Ondo State capital.

According to the commissioner, the coach has been demoted to take charge of the team’s U-17 side.

The Sunshine senior women’s side will now be coached by Rafiu Oseni as the new manager and will be assisted by Nike Adekunle and former captain of the club, Odunayo Adejoro.

The Commissioner also noted that the repositioning was aimed at restructuring football at the state.
