The highly anticipated 2024/2025 season of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership is set to kick off on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, with exciting fixtures lined up across the country.

 

This season carries added significance as clubs vie for qualification to the inaugural Women’s World Club Cup 2026. The winner of this year’s NWFL Premiership will progress to the WAFU-B regional qualifiers, seeking a spot in the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League finals and a coveted ticket to the first-ever global women’s club football tournament.

• Defending champions Edo Queens face Abia Angels at the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

• Ekiti Queens host Heartland Queens at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.

• Confluence Queens take on Remo Stars Ladies at the Anyimba City Stadium.

• Nasarawa Amazons meet Dannaz Ladies at the Lafia City Stadium.

• Rivers Angels welcome newly promoted Ibom Angels to the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

• Adamawa Queens clash with Naija Ratels at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe.

Edo Queens Defend Their Title

 

The Edo Queens, last season’s champions, are entering the campaign with confidence after clinching their first-ever NWFL Premiership title in the 2023/2024 Super Six finals in Yenagoa. Their remarkable season continued with a WAFU-B triumph in Côte d’Ivoire, followed by a fourth-place finish at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.
