In a video released by News Central TV, a protester claimed to have received 5,000 naira to disrupt a protest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). However, after receiving the payment, he reportedly joined the protest instead.
The protester, who identified himself as a tricycle driver, stated that he transported numerous individuals to a meeting point where they were given the money. He emphasized that he was unaware of the identities of the individuals responsible for the payment.

According to the protester, those who accepted the money were the ones causing disturbances at the protest. He stated, “I have evidence that I was one of the people who received 5,000 naira to disrupt the protest. I am a tricycle driver, and I transported many people to the location where we were all given 5,000 naira. I don’t know the name of the people who paid us. The people who are disrupting our peaceful protests are the ones who were given 5,000 naira"
