NWFL Drums Support For Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Tournament
The Chairman of Nigeria Women Football League, Nkechi Obi has thrown her weight behind the organizers of the second edition of the Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Tournament holding in Asaba, Delta State from 11th to 17th December.
In a message to the organizers of the tournament, the NWFL boss said "it's my pleasure to support *The Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup* as a way to immortalize a player who wore her shirt for Nigeria with pride and gave her all when representing her country" .
Continuing, the marketing guru said "I must commend the efforts of her colleague and compatriot Judith Chime for her tireless efforts to ensure we never forget Ifeanyi Chiejine by organizing this annual tournament. Late Ifeanyi Chiejine who was the youngest player in the 1999 Super Falcons squad.
God bless Judith and may Ifeanyi's soul continue to rest in peace".
She said that the tournament despite its major objective, is also passionately dedicated to the structured development of a vibrant, grassroots based Nigerian Sports Industry that will add value to the Nigerian Economy, generates employment and create jobs for the girl child in the country.
