Promise Nwachukwu, General Manager of Heartland FC, Owerri, is waxing a 'redemption song' for the Naze Millionaires who fought body, spirit and soul to grind out a deserved draw at Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC, in Sunday's NPFL match day 11 tie at Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Nwachukwu, a former Nigeria junior International, was pleased with his troop's battling instinct in the game and attributed it to the massive welfare investment on the team by the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

He believes the club's redemption just got underway and that the performance in Ibadan will be consolidated when they welcome Bendel Insurance on Wednesday inside the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, in a Match Day 12 fixture.

The five time NPFL winners boss paid glowing tribute to Governor Uzodinma for keeping faith in the team with his Executive Support.

"We prepared well for this game (against 3SC) and we, of course, targettted the maximum points", starts an obviously delighted Nwachukwu.

"But a point, I would say, under the circumstances, is not a bad one. I just want to let you know that the government of Imo State,  led by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has been doing wonderfully well for Heartland Football Club.

"So, on our part, as a club, what he's expecting from us is just to go out there and win and forget every other thing. He has been there in terms of our welfare package as he is giving us100% support for the players, management and the coaches.

"On our part, we are assuring him that we are not going to be relegated. We are going to get out of this mess by the special grace of God".

Nwachukwu looks forward to Heartland winning their first match of the campaign on Wednesday when they welcome Bendel Insurance at Dan Anyiam Stadium, in a Match Day 12 tie.

"What we expect in every match is a win, not even a draw. So, we are going to prepare very well against Insurance as we did against Shooting Stars and by the grace of God, we are going to come out victorious".
