The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has joined the nation’s sporting community in celebrating its President, Engineer Musa Nimrod, following his official recognition as a Patron of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

 

The investiture ceremony, held on Thursday at the VIP Lounge of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, honoured sports leaders who have demonstrated outstanding support for sports journalism and contributed to the growth of Nigerian sports. The event attracted top sports administrators, federation presidents, seasoned journalists, and key industry stakeholders.

 

Engineer Nimrod, widely respected for his transparent and inclusive leadership style, has played a pivotal role in strengthening collaboration between sports federations and the media. Under his guidance, Nigerian volleyball has witnessed significant progress through grassroots development, improved league structures, and enhanced international competitiveness for both male and female teams.

 

SWAN executives commended Nimrod’s dedication to open communication and partnership with the press, describing him as “an administrator whose integrity and respect for journalists set a commendable standard for others to follow.”

 

In his acceptance speech, Nimrod expressed gratitude to the volleyball fraternity and the wider sporting community, reaffirming his commitment to fostering synergy between sports authorities and the media. He emphasized the critical role of sports journalism in inspiring young athletes, promoting national achievements, and ensuring accountability within the sporting ecosystem.
