NPFL MD24: Nasarawa United Held to Frustrating Home Draw by Ikorodu City

Nasarawa United’s struggles continued on Saturday as they were held to a goalless draw by Ikorodu City FC in their NPFL Matchday 24 encounter at the Lafia City Stadium.

Despite their dominance and numerous attempts on goal, the Solid Miners failed to capitalize on their chances, leaving them frustrated as their relegation battle intensifies.

Goalkeeper Detan Ogundare was the busier of the two shot-stoppers, making key saves to deny Ikorodu City’s Ajeyigbe Toyeeb and Shola Adelani. Meanwhile, Nasarawa United’s attackers—Anas Yusuf, Qamar Adegoke, Idris Ajiya, Garba Abubakar, Abubakar Abdullahi, and Peter Eneji—missed multiple clear-cut opportunities.

The defensive resilience of both teams ensured the points were shared, a disappointing result for Nasarawa United, who had edged the reverse fixture 2-1 in Lagos.

The draw leaves Nasarawa United in 18th place with 26 points from 24 games, while Ikorodu City climbs to 6th with 35 points.
