A raucous atmosphere greeted the Muhammadu Dikko stadium Katsina for a matchday 5 fixture pitting Katsina United and visiting Sunshine Stars of Akure.

Both teams had contrasting fortunes in their respective match 4 engagements going into this contest with the hosts stealing a precious point in owerri at the expense of Heartland FC whilst their visitors, Sunshine Stars narrowly succumbed to a 1-0 scoreline at the new Jos stadium against Plateau United.

But it was the influence of a certain Azeez Falolu that proved crucial for the Coach Tony Bulus-led outfit sealing off a 3-2 victory against the visitors from Ondo state, thanks to goals from Michael Ibe and a Bello Lukman brace.

The diminutive playmaker continued from where he stopped on matchday 4 having come off the bench in owerri to initiate a comeback for the changi boys, also replicated such scenario infront of a massively filled Muhammadu Dikko stadium, this time, restored to the starting lineup by the gaffer.

The charismatic and influential Azeez Falolu made himself huge in the middle of the park in the entire duration of the contest with strings of intentional and precise displays, instilling belief and depth for the hosts from the state of hospitality, a noteworthy performance capped with a glorious assist for Bello Lukman's first goal amid build-up plays fashioned out by the erstwhile Akwa United midfielder much to the delight of coach Tony Bulus.

The midfield maestro and his Katsina United side doggedly saw off the challenge mustered by the visiting Akure gunners to seal off the matchday 5 maximum points before embarking on the road for a crucial matchday 6 call from familiar foes Plateau United. Most certainly Coach Tony Bulus would be banking on his midfield asset Azeez Falolu for another journey of fruitfulness in Jos for the resurgent Changi Boys.
