Abia Warriors fans will once again be treated to top-flight football as the Umuahia-based side returns to action in the second stanza of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League following a short mid-season break.

 

League hostilities resume across the country this midweek with a set of mouth-watering fixtures, and attention in Abia State will be firmly fixed on the Umuahia Township Stadium, where Abia Warriors will seek to carry forward their impressive form from the first half of the campaign.

 

Nicknamed Umu Chineke, the Warriors are determined to begin the new year on a winning note as they push to sustain momentum and keep their continental ambitions firmly on course after a strong finish to 2025. Standing in their way are Plateau United, whom they defeated earlier in the season in Jos, setting up a keenly contested reverse fixture on Wednesday.

 

The Warriors will be aiming to complete a league double over the Peace Boys and, in the process, make history by recording four consecutive NPFL victories for the first time in the club’s Premier League journey. Unsurprisingly, expectations among fans and followers have soared as the Umuahia warlords continue their rise up the table.
