As the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL edges close to its penultimate stage, Enyimba FC’s midfield sparkplug, Usman Musa Babalolo, has fired a defiant warning ahead of their high-stakes clash with Nasarawa United — “We’re ready to give everything. It’s all or nothing now.”

The People’s Elephant is eyeing a crucial third-place finish that could hand them a continental ticket, will face a stern test in Gombe on Sunday as they take on the 'Solid Miners' in a Match Day 37 fixture at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe. With both Abia Warriors of Umuahia and Ikorodu City of Lagos also eyeing the coverted spot, Enyimba have no margin for error.

For Babalolo, a mid-season signing and a former Doma United FC of Gombe player, who has gradually cementing his place as a fan favorite, the mission is clear: “It’s a very important match, so everybody is ready. Hopefully, we expect to get the maximum points,” he said with steely confidence while in a chart with Enyimba Media after the team’s arrival in Gombe.

“We thank God for journey mercy to Gombe,” he added. “I’m excited to be with the Enyimba family — my teammates, coaches, the management, and our loyal fans. I truly cherish the opportunity given to me by the Technical Adviser, Coach Stanley Eguma and I promise to give my all on Sunday if am called upon to help actualize our dream.”

The stats back Enyimba’s ambition. In 21 meetings since 2013, the Aba giants have claimed victory 11 times over the Lafia side while Nasarawa United have five wins and five games ended in draws. But history alone won’t be enough on Sunday — desire, discipline, and ruthlessness will be key.

NPFL organizers have mandated that all 10 matches kick off simultaneously by 3pm, adding another layer of drama to a fiercely competitive fixtures. At the center of that drama is Babalolo — slick, small in stature, but bursting with fight.

“It’s a battle,” he said simply. “We’re going all out.”

Coach Eguma will however have to navigate this tie in the absence of the trio of Captain Paschal Eze (family issues) and  Atule Joseph (injured) as well as in-form goal scorer (family issues).
