NNL Gets 28 October Kick Off Date
The Annual General Meeting of the Nigeria National League has approved Saturday 28th October, 2023 as the kick-off date for the 2023/2024 NNL League season.
On the day, only one Star Match will be played at the Uyo Township Stadium. The match will be between Dakkada and 1472 FC Lagos 28 October 2023.
However, other week one league matches are to be played on 4th, 5th, and 6th November, 2023 respectively at various venues.
The Congress also adopted an Abridge League format of 4 conferences of A, B, C and D for the 2023/2024 League season.
The Meeting did not fail to appreciate Dekaizen Worldwide Ltd the official Insurance Brokers for providing a cash price of N5,000,000.00 (Five million naira) only for the winners of the 2023/2024 league season. However cash prices for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions shall be worked out base on availability of funds before the close of the season.
The AGM officially confirmed the promotion of Heartland FC, Kano Pillar FC, Sporting Lagos FC and Katsina Utd FC to the NPFL and the relegation of the following 12 clubs to the NLO 1 including
Kogi Utd FC of Lokoja, FWC Champions FC of Abuja, Zamfara Utd FC of Zamfara, Green Berets FC of Zaria, ABS FC of Ilorin, Police Machine FHQ FC of Gombe, Go Round FC of Omoku, FC Ebedei of Shagamu, Joy Comts FC of Lagos
Ibom Youths FC of Ikot Ekene, Edel FC of Awka and Henserd FC of Yenagoa
The NNL Annual General Meeting insisted that only stadia that meets the required NNL Stadium facilities criteria shall be approved for the 2023/2024 League season. They NNL agreed that at least 20 effective security personnel must be present before a league match can commence in any venue hosting NNL match in the 2023/2024 league season.
The Congress appreciated the various sponsorship moves so far made by the Board of the Nigeria National League, while praying that they shall come to fruition.
