The Refereeing  Development Unit of Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) has announced the suspension of some of  it's erring members involved in poor officiating and unprofessional conduct  during Nigeria National League matches.

In a press release it issued and  signed by  Mohammed Ameenu on behalf of the Chairman NFF Referees’ Committee and copied to  President, Nigeria Football Federation, the Federation's General Secretary, Chairman/ COO of the NNL and all the state Football Associations of the affected  referees, it stated that the decision to step down the match officials  was because of their misinterpretation and misapplication
 of the Laws of the Game exhibited by the concerned match officials which is capable of putting matches of the second tier league in disrepute.

It listed the affected officials as; Henry Okwara of Imo State who handled the   NNL Match Day 16 involving Warri Wolves and Ikorodu FC, the Assistant Referees 1 and 2 in the same match, Henry  Osuomo of Edo State and  Akpabio Milcah of River State.

Others are Babatunde Gbenga of Lagos State who handled  NNL Match Day 17 game against Ijebu Utd and Osun Utd and  Daniel Oginni also of Lagos State who served as  Assistant Referre 2 in the same match. 

Also affected are, Uba Usman of Borno State who served as  Assistant Referee 1 in NNL Match Day 17 between Jigawa Golden Stars and  Sporting  Supreme as well as Ibrahim Manga of Kebbi State who was the referee assessor in the same match.
