NLO25 Matchday 4: Fabian Omaka's Goal Sinks Enyimba Feeders

By: Ilekam ikechukwu (Mr Flakes)
A moment of sheer individual brilliance from Fabian Omaka in the first half of a keenly contested Matchday 4 duel against the baby Elephants proved crucial for Bright Stars FA as they earned a hard fought 1 nil victory at the expense of the Enyimba Youth team.
The fiercely contested tie lived up to the billing immediately hostilities got underway in the first half. There was never a dull moment at both ends as an early quest for goal brought the best from the contenders.
The Stars took the game to their opponents with couple of early dominance as the duo of Prince Nwachukwu and Ekene made their presence hugely felt in the middle of the park for the ukpakiri based outfit, amid the lively Fabian Omaka creating shoal scoring opportunities down the right with his dazzling step overs.
The Stars came close to breaking the deadlock in the 20th minute when Fabian Omaka with a beautiful work down the right to set up Amos Chiedozie whose wayward shot on goal went so high over the bar to the relief of the Enyimba backline who had hoped the pacy winger should have scored from such a promising position.
The war waged on as both sides tried to capitalize on any loophole but that was far fetched with both teams maintaining a commendable level of discipline both on and off the ball.
The breakthrough finally came in the 28th minute when attacking midfielder Fabain Omaka brilliantly bent his freekick beyond the reach of a helpless goalkeeper Eze Matthew who had no answers to what arguably should be in contention for goal of the league championship so far.
The first half ended as Bright Stars FA earned the halftime bragging rights. Upon resumption of the second half, the baby Elephants seem to roar back to life with some fresh injections from the coach Akuma-Joe led-technical crew.
The surge for the equaliser continued as the baby Elephants threw everything they had but a resolute defence line for Bright Stars FA led by Nelson Stephen stood tall.
All efforts from second half entrants for the feeders to draw level proved abortive as the centre referee finally brought hostility to a climax.
Next for the shinning stars is a Matchday 5 contention against rivals City Stars FC in the battle of Stars.
