Capital City FC of Abuja are on the verge of being thrown away from the NLO Division One if happenings at the Akure Center of  the NLO play off is anything to go by.

The Capital City boys came out tops at the Bwari Center of the Abuja zone of the NLO Division1 League. 

They were to supposed to meet Family Worship Center Champions at the Akure Township Stadium
on Thursday, but the Abdulraham Umar boys failed to turn up after the match officials and their opponent were on the pitch to perform the match formalities.

For failing to turn up for match, the team has ran foul of  Article 4.12(7) d. of the NLO Rules And Regulations.

 They also run foul of 4.12(10) of the rules which says that On no account must a club refuse to play a scheduled match on grounds of inadequate security if the appointed match officials are satisfied with the security arrangement. Any club violating this article shall be liable to a fine of N100, 000.00 in addition to the forfeiture of the match

Meanwhile, FWC Champions had rolled out their drums in anticipation of victory over the Capital city boys

In a release immediately after the unexpected turn of events, FWC Champions said  Capital City FC withdrew from their crucial NLO playoff match.

They said the  withdrawal has resulted in a walkover, automatically awarding FWC Champions FC the victory and the essential points needed to advance.

Speaking on the incident, the Chairman of Capital City FC Abdulraham Umar said his team's inability to attend the match was as a result of the conflicting messages sent by the Secretariat of NLO as relates to the match. 

According to him, "when the league was ongoing, a circular came from Secretariat of the NLO saying that winners of the Bwari zone will play the winners of Area 3 zone in Lafia. Few days to the playoff, precisely on 20th May, another circular came out juxtaposing the fixtures saying that
"In view of some unholy alliance towards the upcoming matches in Nationwide League One that the Board has directed the Secretariat to as a matter of 
urgency work on the intelligent report in order to enable a level playing field for all the teams 
involved in the League. "I called the Chief Operating Officer to inform him that the change Is unfair to us, that how can two teams from Abuja be zoned Out of the North Central to South West. That we don't have that kind of fund. And moreover, he should be able to explain what that intelligent report is all about. He refused to reveal what it is all about, so that we would be careful with other people's children in my care" he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Chief Operating Officer of the NLO Shola Ogunnowo said his Secretariat awaits the match officials report to know the next line of action.
