The Chief Operating Officer of the Nationwide League One (NLO), Olushola Ogunnowo, has announced crucial registration guidelines for clubs participating in the upcoming NLO Division Two U-19 Youth League, scheduled to kick off on July 24, 2025.

 

In an official communication from the NLO Secretariat addressed to clubs and State Football Associations, Ogunnowo emphasized the need for strict compliance with all outlined requirements. The NLO Board has made it clear that no club will be allowed to participate without completing the necessary procedures ahead of the league’s start date.

 

Below are the mandatory requirements for club registration:

• ✅ All players must be under 19 years of age, born on or after January 1, 2006.

• ✅ During online registration, clubs must provide accurate player information including date of birth, weight, height, and position.

• ✅ Online registration is compulsory. Any club failing to register online will be barred from participating in the league.

• ✅ Clubs must submit all player licenses to the NLO Secretariat on or before Friday, July 11, 2025, for verification and processing.

• ✅ Registration fees must be fully paid into the official NLO account.

 

Ogunnowo reiterated that these measures are in line with Article 3.10 of the league regulations, and failure to comply will disqualify clubs from the 2025 season.

 

“This is a critical step in our ongoing commitment to structure youth football and ensure transparency and fairness across all divisions,” said Ogunnowo. “Clubs are advised to act promptly to avoid last-minute issues.”

 

The NLO Division Two U-19 League serves as a vital platform for identifying and developing young football talent across Nigeria. With the official countdown to kickoff now underway, clubs are expected to mobilize resources and administrative efforts to meet the deadline and uphold the standards of Nigeria’s grassroots football ecosystem.
