The Nationwide League One (NLO) Secretariat has officially confirmed the admission of Ọkpọtemba Football Club, Isinweke, Imo State, into Division Two of the Nationwide League One ahead of the 2026 season.

 

In a confirmation letter addressed to the Chairman of Ọkpọtemba FC at the club’s office located at 61 Shopping Plaza, Isinweke Motor Park, Ihitte/Uboma, Imo State, the NLO disclosed that the club has taken over the league slot previously owned by Edge FC of Lagos State.

 

According to the Secretariat, the required payment of ₦150,000 for change of name, ownership, and location is to be made to the NLO account (FCMB, 3267800014 – Nationwide League One) as part of the formalization process.

 

The letter further emphasized that, in line with league rules and regulations, Ọkpọtemba FC—being an affiliate of the Imo State Football Association—must play all its home matches within Imo State or the region, except where directed otherwise by the NLO Congress depending on the league format.

 

The Secretariat also urged the club’s leadership to liaise closely with the Imo State Football Association for guidance on player registration and other documentation necessary for participation in the 2026 Nationwide League One season.

 

With this confirmation, Ọkpọtemba FC now looks set to begin preparations for its debut campaign in Nigeria’s third-tier league structure, marking a significant milestone for the club and football enthusiasts in the Ihitte/Uboma region.
