NIMMA FC has emerged champions of the Usman Yahaya/Ola 1 Unity Cup held in Gwagwalada Area Council.

 

In the final match, NIMMA FC defeated Cottage FC 1–0, courtesy of a first-half penalty. Cottage FC started the game strongly with early attacking moves but failed to convert their chances due to poor finishing. The encounter later became closely contested, with both teams battling until the final whistle.

 

The month-long tournament was organized as a sensitization programme in support of the chairmanship ambition of Usman Yahaya under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gwagwalada Area Council, as well as Ola 1, the councillorship candidate for Kutunku Ward.

 

Speaking after the match, Ola 1 expressed appreciation to the youths and teams that participated in the competition. He revealed that 16 clubs from across Gwagwalada Area Council took part in the tournament.

 

He also promised that if elected, he would fully support football development and youth engagement initiatives within the Area Council.

 

The Unity Cup not only showcased emerging football talents but also promoted unity and community engagement among youths in the area
