Nigerian goalkeeper Obia Christiana has taken her career to new heights by joining Albanian women's top division side, KFF Apolonia Women. The 23-year-old announced the move on her social media handles. 

Obia expressed her gratitude to God for the new opportunity, saying, "Thank you, Lord, for this new chapter in my career. To you alone be praise."

The former Edo Queens goalkeeper has had a notable career in Nigeria, playing for teams like Osun Babes FC, Rivers Angels, and Edo Queens FC. She was also part of the Rivers Angels side that participated in the maiden edition of the CAF Women's Champions League in 2021.

At the national team level, Obia represented Nigeria at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. Her move to KFF Apolonia Women makes her one of the few Nigerian women's goalkeepers playing in Europe, alongside the likes of Chiamaka Nnadozie in France and Yewande Balogun in the Czech Republic.

KFF Apolonia Women currently sits fourth in the Women's National Championship table, and Obia will be hoping to make a significant impact and help her new team climb the ranks.
