For di video wey show for internet this week, Kachalla dey confess say him don supply over 450 guns give plenty bad gangs for North-West Nigeria, and people dey talk say some army people dey help am.

But for statement wey Army drop on Thursday through di Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, she talk say di video na from May 2021 and e no get connection with any current army operation. She also talk say no Army person don get arrest or wahala because of di matter.

She yarn say:

“The Nigerian Army don see one video wey dey fly for social media wey dey make e look like dem just arrest one foreign arms dealer, Shehu Ali Kachalla, for Zamfara. Make we clear di ground: di video na old one. Di Kachalla wey una see for dat video na one 30-year-old Niger man wey police arrest for May 14, 2021, during joint operation with Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) and Special Tactical Squad (STS) of di Nigeria Police.”

Army still explain say back then, Kachalla gree say him don sell more than 450 rifles and plenty bullets give criminals wey dey operate for Zamfara, Kaduna and Niger States.

Anele talk say di reason why people dey repost di video now na to confuse Nigerians and spoil di work wey Nigerian Army and other security people dey do to stop terrorists and bandits.

She talk again say Army no dey joke with discipline:

“Nigerian Army no dey take nonsense from any soldier wey mess up. If dem catch anybody do anyhow, dem go punish am according to Armed Forces Act and military law.”

She come warn social media people, influencers and bloggers make dem stop to spread old video or fake news wey fit cause panic or make people no trust di security forces again.

At di end, Anele remind everybody say Nigerian Army go continue to protect Nigeria and work with other security agencies and communities to make sure peace dey everywhere for di country.
