New Executives Elected for Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Media Directors Forum
The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Media Directors Forum has elected new executives to enhance the league’s competitiveness and visibility.
During a virtual meeting on October 27, 2024, the forum appointed its inaugural officials, dedicated to promoting dynamic and ethical sports reporting across the league.
The NWFL Premiership Media Directors Forum aims to expand the league’s reach through timely and engaging media content. With a focus on sports journalism standards, the forum aspires to position the NWFL among the most reported and respected leagues globally.
In her acceptance speech, newly elected president Faith Oluchi Meremegbunam of Rivers Angels FC highlighted the importance of rebranding the NWFL through impactful storytelling to attract sponsors and elevate the league’s profile in Africa.
“I am honored to lead this forum,” Meremegbunam stated. “As key stakeholders in the NWFL, we will support the league’s recognition through constructive collaboration and insightful reporting.”
Meremegbunam reaffirmed the forum’s commitment to working alongside the NWFL, promoting its achievements, and advocating for improvements that benefit all stakeholders.
The newly elected officers are:

• Vice President: Humphrey Njoku (Heartland Queens)
• Secretary: Chinedu Charles (Abia Angels)
• Assistant Secretary: Emmanuel Ochoche Adakwu (Nasarawa Amazons)
• Treasurer: Adebiyi Adesoji Aderemi (Remo Stars Ladies)
• Public Relations Officer: Muhammad Musa (Confluence Queens)
• Welfare Coordinator: Olaleye Oluwadamilola (Dannaz Ladies)
