Nendi Dasham Crowned Champions of Maiden Pascal Patrick Unity Cup in Bauchi
Sixteen teams competed in the maiden edition of the Pascal Patrick Unity Cup held in Tapshin, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, with Nendi Dasham emerging as champions.
The grassroots football tournament, which reached its climax during the Easter holiday, brought together teams from across the area in a celebration of unity, talent, and community development through sports.
In an exciting final, Nendi Dasham defeated Gonzi FC to lift the trophy, while Yiku Tapshin FC secured third place after overcoming Rainbow FC in the third-place playoff.
The competition was sponsored by former Nigerian international and Bauchi State Football Association Chairman, Patrick Pascal, who is also the Super Eagles Coordinator. He rewarded all four top teams with branded jerseys, footballs, and cash prizes in recognition of their performances.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Pascal expressed satisfaction with the standard of play and the level of participation recorded in the tournament.
He commended the teams for their sportsmanship and skill, noting that the competition had achieved its aim of promoting unity and discovering young talents at the grassroots level.
Pascal also pledged to sustain and expand the tournament in future editions, emphasizing his commitment to developing football in his local community and providing opportunities for emerging players.
The maiden Unity Cup is already being hailed as a success, with stakeholders hopeful it will become a regular platform for nurturing football talent in Bauchi State.
Pascal also used the opportunity to visit his first primary school, Kobi Primary school where he donated School Uniform, Football Jerseys and footballs. He was received by an appreciative pupils of the school.
