The Nigerian Boxing Federation (NBF) on Monday at the National Stadium, Abuja held elections for two vital offices into her Board after a prolong debate on modalities for the election.

In the election, supervised by the National Sports Commission, Coach and Boxing/Referees/Judge, Babatunde Laguda won by unanimous decision out punching two other opponents with 21 votes for him, Ashimota garnered 7 votes to emerge runners up while Ajose could only secure 2 votes to be the Technical Director on the NBF Board.

It was jubilation galore for Laguda whose father, Mr Laguda was a Media Officer with Ajibade Fashina-Thomas at the National Stadium, Surulere-Lagos in the 70s as members of the Boxing Fraternity surrounded him to congratulate him.

The boxing platform accommodating Administrators, Coaches Referee/Judges and Boxers of all categories in Nigeria Patmos Media reports was agog with congratulations to the skilled and experienced Laguda who was a Boxer in his school days.

Miss Fadilat Tijani from Ogun State won by a more unanimous decision of 22-9 votes over Kehinde Obareh to emerge the Athletes Representative on the Board.

It will be recalled that Nigeria sent three Boxers to the world Boxing Council contests this September who were all disqualified for improper registration. Mr. Adura Olalere led the team of two male Boxers and a female Boxer to the event that left out the National Boxing Coach, Anthony Koyegwachi who is the junior brother of legendary, Peter Koyegwachi who now resides in USA.
