NBBF Women’s Basketball Final 8 Tips Off September 16 in Lagos

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has confirmed that the much-anticipated Final 8 of the 2025 NBBF Women’s Basketball League will tip off on Tuesday, September 16, at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
According to a statement from the league chairperson, Perpetual Clement, teams are expected to arrive on Monday, September 15, with the competition running until Saturday, September 20, while departure is scheduled for Sunday, September 21.
Clement congratulated the eight qualified teams for making it through the zonal phase and reiterated the federation’s commitment to delivering a successful and professionally-run championship.
“We are proud of the level of competition this season and we look forward to hosting a thrilling Final 8 in Lagos. Every team here has earned their place, and the fans can expect high-level basketball,” she said.

From the Atlantic Conference, the four teams heading to Lagos are:
• MFM Basketball Club (Defending Champions)
• First Bank Basketball Club
• Bayelsa Blue Whales
• Dolphins Basketball Club
The Savannah Conference will be represented by:
• Air Warriors
• Royal Aces
• Titans Basketball Club
• Nigeria Customs Basketball Club
The tournament will determine the national champions and could serve as a platform for international club competitions qualification, depending on regional allocations from FIBA Africa.
Basketball fans across Nigeria are expected to converge in Lagos to witness five days of elite women’s basketball, as the top clubs battle for supremacy, silverware, and bragging rights.
