Nasarawa United’s Kumater Shina Joins CHAN Eagles Camp
Kumater Shina, a former Schoolboy international, has reported to the CHAN Eagles camp in Abuja. The 17-year-old left winger, who made his NPFL debut for Nasarawa United in Week 4 of the current season against Ikorodu United, was among the 26 players invited to prepare for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers against Ghana in December.
A former student of Fosla Academy Karshi, Abuja, Kumater’s impressive play has already caught the attention of Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen. Notably, he captained the Fosla Academy team to victory in the 2021 National Principal’s Cup.
Born in Benue State, Kumater was also part of Nigeria’s Copa Coca-Cola team that competed in South Africa and Kenya. Additionally, he was one of the five Nigerian student players sponsored by Coca-Cola to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Kumater’s talent was spotted by Nasarawa United’s management during the 2024 Unity Preseason Tournament in Abuja.
