Power Dynamos head coach, Oswald Mutapa, has insisted that his side fully merited their victory over Nigeria’s Rivers United in Sunday’s CAF Champions League clash in Uyo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

 

The Zambian champions secured a vital 1–0 away win in their Matchday 4 Group encounter, dealing a significant blow to Rivers United’s hopes of reaching the knockout stage of the competition.

 

Speaking after the match, Mutapa praised the character, discipline and resilience of his players, maintaining that Power Dynamos were the better side for large periods of the contest.

 

“We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game, but we were prepared to fight for victory,” Mutapa said.

“We controlled the game when we had the ball, but the last 15 minutes were more difficult. We are happy with the result.”

 

The win further boosts Power Dynamos’ position in the group standings, strengthening their chances of progression, while Rivers United are now left with an uphill task in their remaining fixtures as they fight to keep their CAF Champions League campaign alive.
