Former Super Falcons international, Maureen Mmadu, has expressed deep appreciation to the Anambra State Football Association following her appointment into the Women Football Development Committee of the association.

In a statement made available to the press, Mmadu described her appointment as a great honour and a call to service, noting that she is committed to contributing her wealth of experience to the growth of women’s football in Anambra State.

“I am sincerely grateful to the Anambra State Football Association for finding me worthy to serve in this important capacity. It is a privilege to be part of a team that is passionate about developing women’s football at the grassroots level,” she said.

The former international, who enjoyed a successful career with the Super Falcons, emphasized the importance of structured development programs, talent identification, and proper mentorship in building a strong foundation for young female footballers.

Mmadu assured the association of her full support and dedication, promising to work collaboratively with other members of the committee to achieve set goals.

“I am fully committed to supporting the FA in nurturing young talents, creating opportunities, and ensuring that women’s football in Anambra State reaches greater heights,” she added.

She further called on stakeholders, coaches, and sports enthusiasts in the state to join hands in promoting the women’s game, stressing that collective effort is key to sustainable development.

She praised the Chairman of Anambra State Football Association Chikelueo Iloenyosi for his  passion about football development in the State, and he is doing everything humanly possible to make sure that Anambra State becomes one of the best when it comes to grassroots development of football in the country. 

The appointment of Mmadu is widely seen as a strategic move by the Anambra FA to leverage her experience and passion in advancing women’s football and inspiring the next generation of players in the state.
