Sports Minister Applauds The Gains of the National Youth Games

 Sports Minister, Senator John Owan Enoh, has emphasized the importance of nurturing and developing young talents discovered at the 8th National Youth Games in Asaba.

The minister praised the athletes' discipline and sportsmanship, noting that the Ministry has launched an Athletes Development Initiative to help them compete at the elite level.


Enoh encouraged the athletes, saying, "The sky is the beginning for you young lads. With you, the future of Nigerian sports is bright. I see future world record holders and Olympic and Paralympic medalists among you." He acknowledged the National Youth Games as a valuable platform for discovering talents, many of whom have become champion-winning medalists.

Top performance at the end of the games are Delta State_: 1st place with 111 medals (46 gold, 31 silver, 34 bronze), Lagos State_: 2nd place with 65 medals (26 gold, 20 silver, 19 bronze), Edo State_: 3rd place with 59 medals (18 gold, 13 silver, 28 bronze)


The minister also recognized Sin Munyal Kwairanga, a 14-year-old athlete who won three gold medals in Gymnastics after registering on her own.
